I've seen that quite a bit where someone lists a 48.0mm piston for the xl80 but the xl80s has a 47.5 bore so that one won't work unless I bore the cylinder and I don't really want to do that if I don't have to.
It would be pointless to buy a 47.5mm piston kit without knowing the ID of the cylinder. Buying the first overbore piston and having the cylinder bored to match the piston ensures a good solid setup and good compression. Just my 2¢...
It does but the cylinder is good, still 47.5 with no detectible wear so it doesn't need a bore and I'd rather go back with the stock piston if one is available. I've found a few NOS pistons so I can go that route if I have to but I was hoping someone has a line on an aftermarket kit with rings, pin and clips.
