I've read up on the interchange of all the generations of engines, but here's what I want to do.

I have a 92 z50r engine with a scored piston/bore. Then i've got a mint 05 crf50 cylinder/piston that I want to put onto it with the stock head.

I tried to find a thread that shows all the differences over the years. I see there's short rod engines, older heads have no bearings on the cam. The cases are slightly different on points cases.

It's all hard to wrap my head around, since I have a 75z, 81z, 83z, 92r and 05 crf, as well as a 79 ct70. So it's kind of mind boggling because there's a few I want to hot rod, but the others I want to use up the good stock parts on.

Awesome thanks! I've been on that site tons and never noticed that. So basically, only my 75 and 81 are caught in the old short rod group. The 75 engine will be on a shelf anyway for a 108 stroker for the street.
