I have a small leak on the bottom of my muffler because I can see a bit of carbon dust on the top of my engine. I thought I would start off by removing the clean out plug, and blowing out the muffler a bit. Not sure if previous owner ever removed the clean out cap off the bottom of the muffler on my '86 z. When I took the cap off last night and the hole is completely plugged felt like concrete, because I couldn't shove anything through it.

I'll probably have to take the muffler off and drill out the clean out hole?

What's the best way to clean the carbon build up on the inside of the muffler, once I have it off?
