i found a local 2002 XR 50 for $800 in the paper. i doubt it has any mods done to it as 50's aren't very popular where i live. Is this a good deal? All i know is that its $500 cheaper than a 2004

if it is clean, yeah, good deal. you can't find then much lower than that.

only problem with buying used is it may have had the nuts beat off it. If a little kid owned it your good. But if its someone older i would make sure to check it out really well. I have an 04 i know it two years it wont be worth 800

Mine is a '02 that I piciked up used for $800. It was a little girls race bike in the peewee class, so it was in great condition.

thats not really a problem if the bike is stock, you end up replacing 99% of the bike ne ways

Im selling my 2002 XR50 right now for $950 but im willing to go as low as $800. But id rather sell it to a kid because I dont know if the engine will last with an adult for a while.

my dad bought 3 brand new 2003s so he got a deal 900$ each but you would be better of buying a brand new CRF.

I ended up selling my 02' XR50 for $825 and a few days later bought a new 04' CRF for $1180 out the door. Not bad deal I dont think. The manger of the dealership said $1100 then the sales tax was $79.75.
