What is the best black paint for the cylinder?
I assume some sort of high temp paint, but was the original flat, or gloss, or ... ?

I’d appreciate any brand or specific paint recommendations...

Thanks!

The cylinder gets low-gloss, heat resistant paint; 500F rated is fine.

Umm? I was not aware that the cylinder is a different colour than the rest of the engine? is this a K0, or K1 thing?
When I got my one the PO had gone nuts with a rattle can, all silver and I am cleaning overspray and dried masking tape from all manner of parts.

I guess to do this Black colour properly it is best to dis assemble the engine?

Thanks
Bruce

Mine is a 1971 K2.
The cylinder is supposed to be black.

Thanks for the input. I ordered some low gloss paint, will see how it goes...

I use Duplicolor Ceramic Engine paint, Low Gloss Black Ford in my restorations and works great. It's not as shiny in person as this picture makes it appear on this one rebuild I recently did.
