I have a 1974 atc 70 & I want to do a 140cc swap. What’s a better option the piranhas or the pitster pro’s? Is there much difference? Build quality, reliability? I’m on the fence about semi automatic or manual clutch.

Everything i have read the piranhas are as good as it gets and the Lifans are also a solid choice. I personally like auto clutches since you still have a beer hand (yes i took down a sorry stock Xr50 rider with a Natty light in my left hand before) but if you’re running big power they tend to slip... if you don’t plan on beating the living crap out of it just go auto and enjoy life.

What do you consider big power? I’d probably be keeping the 140 engine stock & I’m about 150 pounds so as long as the clutch would’nt slip with that kind of weight, I’d be good.

To be honest i didnt even think any of the 140's came with auto clutches because of that reason. If they do then im sure its sturdy enough to hold. By big power i meant any of the Big bore motors like a 140 or 125.
