what do I need to be competetive?

605 Views 12 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  MAZZ77X
i have riden harescrambles and enduro's for quite a while, I ride quite a bit of moto but have never raced. and have had a stocker pit bike for a few years that I take to wakeboard tourney's and ride in the pits at races, it has the basics like bars and stiffer suspension and a tall seat. I want to get into pit bike racing and want to know what kind of things I need to be competetive? I would like to keep my stocker a 50 so it will be street legal here in MO when I turn 16. I am about to turn 15. any suggestions on what cc of a bike or any thing else. I am not against buying a used 110 and fixing it up, but I would rather be able to buy a ripper with out having to do a lot to it. I would like a 12 in.

Any suggestions on a bike?

I would rather spend more money for a solid used race bike than a little for a new piece of turd. I would like around or below $1500. I want it to be able to compete in am classes or local pro classes.
Check out the classifieds and find yourself a good used bike if you don't want to do a lot of work. That's probably the cheapest way to do it so you don't have to build one up yourself. If you looking to spend $1500 you might want to look into the china bikes like pitster, G2, ssr, etc.
you dont even know what your talking about do u?

a brand new klx 110 cost more than that, pro class start off in beginner
pm me lets make a deal, i just listed my ogm race bike for sale
I never said I wasnt going to start in beginner I just want to get a good bike the first buy.
I also never said I was goin to get a new 110.
09 motovert, priced right and one of the best bikes out there.
do not buy any Chinese crap, people always say how good they are but trust me don't buy one. Sell your bike and buy a nice modded crf50. In the long run you will be happy. Buy used parts on here, you will save alot of money.

le sigh...
Keep your eyes peeled for a used Motovert or X4R. There should be a sh!t load of them for sale as soon as the new LXR bikes come in. Guys will be giving them away to get their hands on the new latest and greatest batch of China bikes.

The last years Motovert and X4R were great bikes.
