I know the guys that build motors on here will like this one. I just built a new engine, the biggest most expensive i have ever.
Im all excited when i get the bike done right. So i push it outside to start it and see what happens, let it heat up so i can retorque everything. I kicked it over a few times with no plug to pump up the chain tensioner. Plug in, i bump start it and it fires right off and dies....dead. No compression...Damnit.
I checked over everything building it: timing, piston to head, clayed the valves, stacked gaskets and spacer plates for the right compression and everything....bla bla.
I took off the cam and flywheel cover, timing is good. Took out the plug, no shavings. Pop the valve caps off, and both valves are loose, like .015 loose. Bent valves....damn, why? I checked, i had like a hundred thou valve clearance during the build....
Can you guess what I did??
So, I shine a light in the plug hole. sure enough i can see light around the valve looking in the exhaust port. Tear it down to see where and why it hit the piston I guesss.....
I left a piece of paper towel in the intake while installing the motor in the frame. Sucked it right up and tried to blow it out the exhaust. I towel was under both valves.
