I want to build a 2 stroke pitbike but dont know the best one to build.I was wondering about the bars,suspension,engine.

KX65 is the way to go, I'd say.

Check out my KX65 and small wheeled KX100 pit bikes in this forum. Or EM me your home EM, and I have a couple short vids of me riding my KX65 pit bike.



At 5'10-- I'd recommend a KX85 w/a KX100 top end. The 65 is fun as hell, but feels really small. A KTM would be even better, but it feels small also. It depends what type of track you're riding it on. --L*64

well some peeps (a bible banger of China bikes) on here say it is not a pit bike unless it is open cradle and the engine is horizontal,,,,,,soooooo for 2 smoke that only leaves Pee Dubs...a couple of Kawis and maybe a Suzook

I raced my KX65 in the pit bike races "experimentally" before. It sucked on small tracks... the lack of low end and mid range put it at too much of a disadvantage exiting the turns to allow the top end to catch it up on the straightaways if they weren't pretty long. The 65 likes turns with big berms too. I just use my two strokes as play bikes. The KX100 I use on big bike tracks. If he's looking to race-- he'd be better off with something else. --L*64

PW80 is a good little pit bike. But it really just depends what your looking to do with it.

KTM 65sx is hands down the best 12/14 2T!

easy to modify for adult use also.. i wish i never would have parted out mine!

i went with a 1994 kx60 then bored it out to a 85 there a set of bmx bars "works awsome by the way" and kept the suspention stock and it does everything that i want! Im 27 6'2 165 and the thing friggen fly with me on it, i flattrack, supermoto, and do some backyard motocross with my buddys. They all have the basic tricked out klx110/pitster pros/ bbrs and what not yeah there fast but... theres just something about riding a 2stroke pitbike. i think its when you pin it feather the cluth and the power hits like a light switch and BANG your outta the burm while there still half way through it with there dinks in there hand wondering what the hell was that?! So i say 2smoke all the way and i think we should be aloud to race with the 4strokers i mean our rims are the same size yeah motors diff in hp and how it runs and **** but put us in a class thats equal to our power or we are equal to them i dont know, i could go on for ever about this subject but thats up to the thick headed thumper dudes. I have nothing against thumpers i have 1 of my oun its fun but it dont have that smell of cotten candy when you start it up, it make me want to just stand in my garage and huff my 2smoke exaust. Any1 one else have some thoughts on this?

either way 1pingers can't be called pit bikes, they're full sized and will chase down 250fs and some 450s.
