My question is how many of you run U4 ...... also is there better fuel to run, and is it a bad to change when this bike has always had U4. any opinions are welcome! thanks guys! Bike never needs choked ever and always starts ice cold on 2-3 kick.

U4.4 is only like 98 octane.... its not used for gain in power by octane but by oxygenation as well as the addition of lead as a lubricant.... but to each his own. I LOVE THE SMELL!

4.4 is 103 octane, btw , here we run ethanol free marine grade high test and mix in some methanol, for smell and blue flame on rev/lim

do you always store your VP in the 5 gallon metal jug or do you throw it into a VP race can? I had 2 gallons left so i filled up a 2 1/2 gallon can was sure if i shouldve left it in the can or if it matters.

Need to store it in metal can, plastic jug breaths to much and your fuel will get old quicker.

Rich guys... just put a 20 dollar bill in your gas tank every time you fill up, you should get the same results.. lol

Jealous much? :)

Seriously though.. Race fuel has a lot of advantages. If you don't need the octane, don't buy it. I generally run 98 octane race gas and I notice the bike runs much better. Plus I can afford the smell.

Nah not jealous. If your bike is jetted correctly pump gas should run excellent. The only advantage I see to running race gas is knowing the gas is fresh and new. Sometimes pump gas could be older or not as 'clean'. Also, you want to run the lowest octane possible for your engine. With higher octane gas you'll start to lose power. Also, for those who mix race gas with pump gas your defeating the purpose of running race gas ;)

92 octane pump gas in the mini. VP110 in the 2-smoke 250. Thare's a place here that sells VP at the pump for $6/gallon. I only run race gas for ease of maintainance. I can let the bike sit for a year and know it'll fire right up with VP in it. VP110 or C12 smells really nice, especially if pre-mixed with castor-based oil. Like toasted almonds.

U4 on the other hand, smells naaasty IMO. I can't believe you guys like that smell. And if you don't drain your carb, U4 leaves that gummy goop in it, worse than the crappy "ethanolized" pump gas does.
