BBR has a good video on their website that shows you how to do it. The video is also on youtube
Great video... there should be a "50 maintenance how to guide" that the moderators can grab this content and put it in to one area so people don't have to search around for it.

Take the tappet covers off the cam cover off put the bike to TDC and use the fueler gauges to measure the gap.
