So my son's ttr90 was running a little sluggish and didn't wanna throttle without dying, so we took the carb off and cleaned it out and put it back together. Well the issue now is that the when it starts it runs wide open.

The throttle doesn't return, like there's no tension on the cable, so the throttle handle is just kinda loose..
On the carb end, I can pull the top of the carb off and the needle and valve body come right out like its supposed to.
When the top is off, the throttle handle works as it should.. but no matter how many times I reattach it, its the same problem.. feels like the cable is too long or something all of the sudden.

Its our first dirt bike and I'll admit I know next to nothing about them.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

The valve body needs to be indexed correctly in the carb throat. Usually there is a long narrow slot on the side of the valve body that needs to be aligned with a locating pin inside the throat. Also, the beveled edge of the valve body should be to the rear of the carb, the airbox end.
