Start w/ the basics. Spark? Fuel flowing? Slide in carb in backwards? Disconnect any wiring by accident? Air leaks as stated above? The big duh....on/off switch? :)

Also by the looks of that roller coaster of a fuel line, Buy a TB race petcock. Change that angle. Raising the carb higher now its even more an uphill climb for the fuel. Just a thought.

Do you have gaskets between the head, adapter, and the manifold to the carb?
yup

Razzo, i was messin wit the carb and i decided to see what the carb looked like on the right side and it actually works and fits better on the right. i figured out 2 problems today

1. when i put in the race cam i didnt adjust the valves so the intake was staying open at tdc. so i re-adjusted them and got that done with.

2. the carb is at a slight angle, could this be the reason why its flooding? if it is than im going to modify the manifold so it compensates for the angle.

Still doesn't run after you adjusted the valves? And I don't think that the little angle of the carburetor would cause it to flood. It's is interesting how the carburetor tucks in when you route it that way. Now you kind of have a ram air intake! Cool! Do the forks hit it when you turn the bars to the right?

With that metal air filter on there, you're going to get all the dirt, grime, and spray from the front wheel right down the intake. And it'll be quicker and more of it if you ride off-road.

i never thought of that at all, but i just wanna hear it run, then ill make something to fix that.

ill keep you guys posted, this thing's really close to being done

Has anybody here ever had one of those projects that once you get one thing fixed somethin else breaks? well, over the weekend i got the bike started and its only got like 20 minutes on it so its kinda hard to kick over. once i finally got my creation running the kickstart broke so my friend and i spent a good portion of the weekend making something to fix the kickstart (no welder). i finally gave up and decided to make a kickstart on the cnc at school. it seems like these little problems never end

What happened? Did the shaft break or the splines strip? I know what you mean though about things breaking. That's how my 1980 Z50R was for the first few months after I got it running. Then I just got the 1984 I have now and sold the 80.

a couple years ago the splines stripped so we drilled a keyway in between the shaft and the kickstarter and pressed a hardened pin in. this time the whole kicking surface, where the rubber is, snapped clean off.
