what special tools would you need to work on a crf50 engine?

i know about the clutch nut tool but are there others?

if so, what are they?



and does anybody have any extra's that they would sell (or give) for cheap?

sorry..I do not but they really are not that expensive and they last forever...unless you lose or loan them

craftsman strap wrench or Harbor Freight equivalant will work for the clutch basket holder

yup youll need 8, 10, 12mm sockets, clutch nut tool, flywheel puller, i use a hose clamp as a piston ring holder, needle nose pliers or snap ring pliers

btw for clutch holder you can use a car engine oil filter wrench...same for flywheel holder...

FPM has the clutch nut tool, flywheel puller from my R worked on my fiddie.

Torque wrench is number one on my list when doing anything with a motor!

clutch nut tool is a must

ive never had to use a flywheel puller on any 50 motor ive worked on or a clutch holder!

my favorite tool in my tool box is a snap-on ratchet screwdriver that has a kinda T handle that thing will undo any screw thats not rusted solid

impact tools are also very helpful

You should have a feeler gauge for setting valve lash, and the adjuster tool if you can swing it. Impact driver for stator plate screws, or a left-hand drill bit and replacements with an Allen hole for later removal. Snap-ring pliers. Razor blades and a sharpening stone, to remove gasket leftovers. And, the phone number of a trusted machine shop for piston to bore clearance checking and head work. Those are a little more specialized than the average garage would need.
