I bought this 1987 TRX 70 in November 2009. I have been slowly fixing it up. I though I would post some pics and tell you a little about the 87.

It has a 12 volt CDI motor which I like and a four speed up transmission. The 1987 model of TRX had a rear foot brake that was not offered on the 1986. The TRX was only made 2 years. It took me a while to find it. It is a nice four wheeler but needs more power but a very fun machine. Enjoy the pics.

The steering had some slop in it so I had to replace the kingpin bushings. The dust seals are discontinued and I need one. :(

Here is a shot of the front brake hub and kingpin. The TRX 70 has front brakes unlike the ATC70.

Here is a pic of the TRX pull starter. Has several plastic pieces unlike the ATC70 which uses all steel pieces... Don't think a TRX 70 pull starter will work on a ATC 70. I bought a brand new TRX70 pul lstarter before they become discontinued like the ATC70's. Not cheap $$$.

Funny thing is there was no chain tensioner when I bought it. The chain was banjo string tight. I couldn't believe it when I saw it. I bought a new one but once again, not cheap.$70 or something like that. Hope you like the gold chain that you will never see too. :( The TRX chain tensioner uses a roller wheel where as the ATC 70 uses a roller wheel that fits into the chain links.

wow nice shape, i like the reflectors
Reflectors are only found on Canadian models of TRX70. I had to remove the front grab bar reflector mounts. One was missing so I removed both and repainted the front grab bar.

Here is the back grab bar with all 3 reflectors.

The original seat had a rip in it and showed its wear so I got a new seat cover off ebay. The ebay seat cover is excellent quality but has seams where as the original Honda cover had no seam stitching. The TRX70 uses a plastic pan where as the ATC's were steel

Very nice little bike there as of now I have been on craigslist almost everyday for a TRX or a ATC. Which ever one nicer comes up first. Perfect build for my daughter that will be turning 1 in about one month.
Justin... Smart move but you had better look for two of them because you are going to want one to ride with her.:)

I painted the foot guards, skid plate, brake drum cover and certain parts of the frame where it was getting rusty.
