I have the new TB head. I installed it with the 88 p/c about 1 month ago. I just pulled it to put on the 117 P/C and noticed that the piston had hit the valve. It had dents in the top of the piston. The valve looked fine. I figured what the hell I will go ahead and throw the 117 in anyway. I have ridden it twice with no problems. I will tear it down soon to see if this piston has hit. I don't know if the valve was sticking or what. I hadn't heard of any problems with this head yet.
just bought a 117 tb kit andgot 10 min and bent a valve.waitng for monday morn to see what they will do ,if i had known i would probably not have got that kit .but i guess it depends on how quickly they resolve it.
i have the new style head and did bend the intake valve after very little time on the build. i have contacted tb and thus far they are working with me. has anyone else worked with them on warrentying the product and how have they been?
no problems w/ mine, started out 88 then went to 117. no problems at all. built a total of eight motors for my friends, all using the tb 88rh kit. none of them have problems. pulled three apart for maint and found no problems. could the valve problem be caused by the valves not being adjusted properly or the cam gear off?
