I have a takegawa close ratio transmission in my bike but only the gear set with clutch still on the crank. I want to put the clutch on the tranmission main shaft now. So can I just buy the special clutch only kit and install it without using the extender in the kit seems like it should work?

No. because it's made to work with stock trans. only! the center part of the hub on the clutch basket is bigger and made to work with the adapter, you would have to order the replacement clutch basket for the full trans and clutch kit through Twobros.
