hey guys so i just got a 124 +r motor and it runs excellent!

only problem is that the clutch wont work.

i attached the clutch cable to the motor lever that controlls the clutch then i ran the cable up the fram and to the perch and lever.... but when i pull the clutch lever in the arm on the motor barly moves. and it wont shift into gear (i think its not moving far enough forward)

and then like when i let go of the clutch lever instead of going back (retracting) it stays there enuless u puch it back?

help please?

nope spring is on the outside I just took a look at one of my Tak covers and realize the bolt I mentioned is the motor mount bolt. simply turn it around so the nut and excess bolt are on the stator side. as you stated cable length may be the issue. Is the cable a Tak brand or other?

pull cable and measure length, I'll measure my Tak cable as a reference....one other thing you might try is removing the clutch arm and moving it back(away) from cable mount/adjustment flange by a notch on the shaft.

Just curious. Will it shift into gear without using the clutch at all?

Also, i have a feeling that spring is the reason why ur clutch arm doesnt fall back into place after u let out of the clutch. Unless ur cable is hanging on that motor mount bolt that u need to flip around and put in the other way.

okay guess sorry i was at school.

but the bikes does shift into gear without the clutch. not first try however. it take some times like 10-15 mines to get it to first without the clutch and other times like 3-6 times....

i kinda think ita the clutch kit its self...

or something not put in right. because i took the clutch cover off and everything and i dont know if everythings right?

if it was internal what do u think it would be its not the cable or the bolt i tried those both and now i took the oil cap off and pulled on the lever and looked into the oil filler hole and the arm thats supposed to push into does not move the clutch springs at all.. its weird but like i said ive never had any expiecrences with a cluth on a tak motor or almost anything.

Isn't the throw out bearing usually flush with the surface of the lifter plate? That could explain why you're having difficulty getting it into gear or the lack of any feel in the clutch lever. Could be the wrong size bearing in there. Just a thought...

hmm it could be.... that the springs are all the way compressed in fact they are. im looking at it now and the clutch springs are all the way compressed cant push them down or anything are they supposed to be like that or are they supposed to have some spring in them and not be bolted all the way down completely???

lemme know please
