Ok guys, I just got my tires today and I studded the rear one up. It looks good. I am using Michlein Starcross MS2 front and rear. Anyways my question is, what can I put as a protection barrier between the inside of the tire and the tube? I made sure none of the screws came through but I don't want them to tighten up or punture the tube if I hit hard. You need to have some good traction up here if you are going to make it through the 38 inches of snow we have and maybe another 14 more to come. If anybody has any ideas please feel free to share your ideas.
you can cut up an old tube and lay that in there, then put in the new tube that will give you an extra layer of rubber and run 2psi more than normal that should work fine! thats what ice racers use!
Hey Fireball what kind of studs r u using. We r using the same tires with 1/2 inch holiday racing studs and we dont run aliner u just gotta angle them right
Hey guys, I will take your advice on the old tubes. I went to a hardware store and bought 6 or 8 by 1/4 hex head machine screws. I just finished studdeding them and ended up with 180 screws in each tire. I didn't have one go through at all even on the side lugs. Now only if it stops snowing and everything can freeze a little more I can try them out. I will post pics when I install them.
