Does a larger carb wake up the stock engine? with airbox mods and header and pipe of course. has anyone tried this, searched and found nothing.

honestly i think that you would be better off maybe doing some mods with the stock carb maybe the joker plug and stuff and some of the mods you have listed. The bigger carb will really help out some of the big bore motors. I run a 26mm OKO carb on my 143 kit and it made a MASSIVE difference between that and a modified stock carb.

i ran a 24 flat slide on a stock engine with a pipe and aircleaner. couldnt jet it to go well down low. put a race cam in and it woke it up just nicely

Try the VM20 Mikuni.

I went with the TB134 kit for about $200 and rejetted the stock carb. With that, exhaust and intake the bike rips and should be as reliable and kickable as stock.
