I bought a used Staggs shock for my kids SSR. Its seams to be a pogo stick. Does the bleeder valve on the shock take air to stiffen it up? Or is it just blown out? The rebound adjuster seams to do nothing at all.

Are they rebuildable?

NOT REALLY, IF YOU TAKE IT APART AND DON'T DAMAGE ANY OF THE O RINGS OR SEALS YOU CAN PUT HEAVIER WEIGHT OIL IN IT, AND RECHARGE IT WITH NITROGEN. I HAVE DONE THIS TO MINE, BUT IT DOESN'T HELP ALL THAT MUCH. THE VALVING IN THE SHOCK IS ALL WRONG FOR A PITBIKE SUSPENSION. IT'S MORE LIKE A MOUNTIAN BIKE SHOCK THAN ANYTHING.

I am about to buy a SX65 chassis and look at puting a XR80 motor in it. I have the fab skills to do it and am sick of all the pit bike JUNK out there. I am no way willing to spend $5000 to build a pit bike that dosn't suck! Very frustrating! :(

Go right to a CRF100 and big bore it you won't be happy with the 80. That's what I'm doing to my XR80 it will be a 120 now.

I just want the motor from the XR/CRF 80/100. The chassis doesn't fit my son. If he was that big I would buy him a CRF150 and shed some CR85 forks on it. He has rode one around our field but its just to big for him....But I can't wait for him to grow into one. He doesn't have my drive to race, but he loves to trail and MX ride and loves the torqy four stroke's. He hated his KX65 and just quit riding. At least the SSR project has him wanting to ride again! I am just tiring of making it jump worthy for his weight. Heres the real kicker. I had a chance to buy a complete 88cc BBR, aluminum frame and all for $1500 and it was cherry!
