Hi, I have a 79 Z50 that I am rescuing and it had what I'll call a split gas tank, the kind with the seam going around the middle of it. I thought it was original and just needed rubber mounts, there were none so it was wobbling all over the place. So, I got new rubber mounts for the 79 and it does't seem there is any way these are going to fit. The front of the tank where the U mounts slide into the frame are too small and the rear donut rubber mount doesn't seem logical. Does anyone know what I have here? Was the tank changed? I did notice that replacement tanks for sale do not have the split seam... Any help appreciated. I added a pic.

That’s a QA50 tank, and that sucks for you because it appears you’ve done the paint work already.

Yea, those are repro. It had the BMX style when I found it, but they were too bent up. I kind of like the tank though I see they are supposed to have that wrap around bezel. Anyway, the plan is to get some practice with the airbrush so I may flame the tank.
