Is it true they laid off almost everyone and Costella is a free agent to race for who he wants.

Costella part is true but who knows about the rest. If you want to save pit bikes the only way to do it is to buy new stuff.

It will be interesting to see if Mini Moto happens this year with everyone calling it a rap or having to down size.

BBR sells over priced ****

Funny you think that? My bbr bike never had one dnf ,won almost every race I ran on it and compared to most of the other throw away bikes being sold it's well worth the money. You get what you pay for no matter what you are involved in.

seriously, bbr is quality stuff, and yeah it is a bit overpriced but they aren't the best pitbike company for nothing, their stuff is top notch, and nothing comes close to their quality

don't get me wrong bbr is by far the best quality. however people want good parts for a good price. they may make the best stuff but the prices are crazy. why buy 1 bike when you could get 3 pitster pros with similar performance. the pitbike scene has down sized and people don't have money for bbr products. there production bike was taking the right step but still out of the price range for the normal joe.... for me all I can afford are used parts and it works just as well.

so you think the bike is what won the race or you being a good rider won the race? personally i think bbr is overpriced and alot of other places you go you will get great quality for alot cheaper. also where do you think bbrs parts are made in house or out?

I'd have to agree, BBR makes good stuff but its wayyy to pricey, for me at least. I'd rather buy something for less and have some spare $$. But its all in what you like.

just because they are put together in the shop does not mean its not made out side...

We are using manufacturing partners from a number of different countries that we have carefully chosen to insure quality control. For instance, we are having the aluminum frame and swingarm pieces forged in Taiwan to BBR spec’s by a reputable manufacturer we have worked with for over 5 years. The shock is also from Taiwan, designed at BBR using our own exclusive valving, spring rates, and leverage points. Other forged or billet aluminum components such as the Brake Pedal, Shift Lever, Footpeg Mounts, Kickstarter, etc..are also manufactured in Taiwan. Wheels are assembled in China, but we are retaining only the very best quality in the components such as 7075 Aluminum Rims, Stainless Steel Spokes and Nipples, and 6061 straight-pull Billet Hubs. Plastic is from Polisport in Italy, and Forks are from Marzocchi of Italy. The 150ccE motor is from Daytona International, and the carb is from Keihin Racing Japan. Combined with some final components manufactured right here at BBR USA, BBR will assemble each bike in our Auburn, Washington shop to insure quality control.

They have expensive stuff, but you have to give them some credit and I think they deserve a little loyalty. At first it was just Five-O, Fast50's, and BBR (there may have been some other small players). BBR was the first one that really stepped up the quality and took the mini thing seriously from a performance/durability standpoint. They are one of the major reasons that minis became an industry rather than a novelty.

With the kind of business they created it is natural that other companies would copy their designs (perimeter frames, ect.) and try to get in on that cash cow. But they are doing it with sub-par products and materials. Yea you may get a bargain China frame that suits your needs and lasts for you, but that just means you weren't riding hard enough to need a real one.

Also, everytime I have had a question, or needed any little part (over the last 9 years of riding/building 50s) they always answer the phone, respond to emails, and seem happy to have you as a customer. I want to see you call some China factory and tell them you are running into a problem, that they sit there and make sure its right before you get off the phone.

So the parts cost a few more bucks, but with that extra cash you are rewarding innovators, and long-time supporters of our hobby/sport. Id pay a few extra bucks for peace-of-mind anyday.
