yaaa but these on, the black ones, barely rode, next day i looked, and right at where the leg goes into the forks, its all white... like the bolack has rubbed off...



shuold i take em off and put MORE grease?

what bushings? did you put grease on the fork legs? inside? how much?

that sucks to hear, i wonder if sik50s knows how long that lasts.

If I remember correctly, Cam said all the forklegs now come powdercoated, so I'm gonna go with PC

IDK, i was told its just gonna make it smoother and wont squeak, im using delrin bushings. it just looks realy bad now. i used a good amount of grease, i mean i got to the point where it just came right out the bottom so i fgured it was enough.



and also, is it sposd to feel stifer? like when i push down it doesnt seem like there is much travel... idk im using stock springs

the fork legs are zinc coated, then black anodized i believe....there zinc plated then anodized because u cant anodize chromoly.... and yeah it rubbs off, other companies have made these before (in the black colour) and the colour jsut wears off...if possible jsut take the fork legs off, get the black anodizing off and chrome them or sumthing....then they will look good.

i emailed sik 50s, they got back to me and said u probly didnt install them wrong... hmm ok, i responded, yet to have gotten back too.

Maybe the fact that they're painted black has something to do with it. You have to chrome. polish or nitrate coat those suckers. They probably minds as well spray painted them.

no they said i probley put them on RIGHT., and yes, the other side is just like that, if not worse! argh, i mean i think i put em on right, the little ring clip thing, it doesnt matter where that is right? i mean like i no where its sposd to go, but is there a specific position? this cant be how they are sposd to be

What kind of grease did you use on the forklegs?



At this point, I would remove the legs and remove the annodizing and run them silver and call it a day if you can't get a warrantied pair from Sik50's.



If they are annodized, easy off oven cleaner will take the annodizing right off. If they are painted, aircraft aluminum paint remover will do the trick. Either way, do it in an open area and wear gloves and a mask..
