Well i was looking through a bunch of older oil cooled suzuki gsxr valves i had in a box tonight. I also had a zonger 110 head apart so just for the hell of it i tried a gsxr valve and it fits great. A guy would have to cut the valve stem down and regroove it but might be a pretty good source for oversize valves and seats? Any gsxr from 86-92-katana-bandit valves should work. They do come in different sizes so might be another avenue for custom engine work. Jake

Good to see people looking around in places other than the norm for components. You'd be surprised how cheap you could set yourself up with titanium valves if you looked at the right engine application and had the ability to modify them some.

Yea, that was on a 4mm stem with a non-hardened tip. With a hardened tip you might not have problems for quite a while but I'd still recommend you run lash caps.

Hack... you use the ti or stainless spring set and you just been using the outers or both? Using the doubles would be a sh*t load of excess pressure unless you're running big heavy stainless valves. I'm sure you've got the setup working great I'm just curious.

We Use The Stainless Springs, I Use The Kibble Outers And A Much Softer Inner From Akunar. The Single Spring Set Up Just Worries Me Because If You BrEAK A Spring Your Are Fckd, At Least With An Inner You Wont Drop A Valve And Kill The Whole Top Half Of An Engine You Spent Months Working On. I Have Done It And Almost Cryed When I Took The Head Off. I Run The Heavy Stainless Valves, I Just Wont Spend $100 For Ti Valve When I Can Get Stainless Ones Cheap Plus The Cost Of New Valve Seats And Lash Caps. John Adams And I Are Working On A 30mm Intake Head Right Now, Should Have It Done By The End Of The Week. I Really Think That Some Of These Intake To Exhaust Valve Size Ratios Are Wrong, We Are Going To Try Something Different And See If We Can Pull More Out Of It.

Really big intake and small on the exhaust huh. ;-) You shouldn't be disappointed.

Pm me the intake valve specs you need. Does it need to be flat top? I'm guessing no or your stainless valve would weigh a ton. I might be able to set you up with something to test for pretty cheap. You could always try one without a new seat and just see how long it lasts. At worst a hard seat will just wear the valve quickly and won't hurt anything if you're willing to test it.

Yeah i learned a bit about valve/port sizes when building kart racing engines. Had the best luck(on briggs) with just using a larger valve on the intake side leaving the exhaust size stock. I believe the stock oil cooled gsxr valves are stainless steel. If they can take the abuse that the 1127 gsxr engine can put out they should work great on a mini. I might cut down a couple and regroove for the keeper. Will probably have to work pretty slow and use carbide to cut the groove but it should work. Don't know if it would be worth the trouble though. jake

We have a setup being built right now with Ti valves. Once the head is done and tested I will let you know how it works. Currently we are running the Gsxr valves in our redone heads and they seam to work fine. It seems like alot of the problems with the Ti valves, it is people are using the wrong springs with them.

Yes I believe you are correct. 30/24 I have settled on for our 59 x 59 builds.
