Got it installed in about 3 hours tonight  . Took that long because i pretty much disassembled my entire bike learning about it. Anyway, I purcahsed it from Holeshot Racing and when it arrived, the plastic throttle was shattered! :( . I called them and they said it would be a week, and I need it by tomorrow afternoon, so I went and bought an applied racing throttle for the 50s. Should be the same, right? Anyway, I unscrew the OEM cap thing on top of the carb, feed the cable through the plunger thing, put the spring on, etc etc. Folowed instructions exactly. Anyway, there is still slack inside the cable! Basically there is no tension on the wire, so that the throttle doesnt retract - its pinned at full throttle and wont go lower. Anyone know what I can do? Thanks so much!

Heres a pic of it:

if you look near the red anodized cap that goes on the top of the carb... you will see a thing that looks like a brake tensioner> adjust that

P.S. i dont really see how that pic would help yoo much(no offense)

OK guys I cant get it to seat right! Is the carb slide supposed to go flush or below the level of the metal casting of the carberator? I cant get it to go down, it stick up about a 1/4 inch or so. Im thinking it needs to go down more so it tightens the cable. The instructions said something about removing the carb from the intake manifold, I Didnt do that? Is that the problem> I dont see how that can help matters?

OK so basically it goes below being flush mount. I am trying to figure out how to get it down there! Does it take much force to get it down that far? I have been pushing pretty hard at various positions trying to find the spot that it will seat properly. I am getting fed up and think pretty soon its off to the local Honda Dealership :(

on your that cylindrical thing, slide i think, there is a little slit along the entire length of the side. If you look into the top of your carb you will see a little notch on the inside, you have to line the slit up with the notch. Try that.

I took it to the honda dealership and turns out I fugged up the carb by starting the engine with the thing full throttle inserted incorrectly. Oh well, the guy was a buddy of mine and happened to have a spare carb laying around from when he put his 88 on and threw it on there for me. Back riding again! YAY! :D

your carb is fine, it just flooded out. unless you seriously broke something theres nothing wrong with it. dont trust the honda dealership, they rarely know anything right

No this guy is the dad of my best friend. I fugged up the grooves that the slide goes into to seat properly so it wouldnt insert in the right way. He even showed me my old one

im not a big fan of bbr stuff

i hate all the stuff they give ya with the forks and it doesnt work

the throttle cable sticks way out and u can only turn it a quarter turn

the front break cable made my front breaks lock up alot and the piece that goes into the drum is ok but the cable dont go into it right and instead of it going straight down it makes a big curve i personally dont like the bbr stuff my forks blew out so easy too i hate them but i guess i will deal with it

What? I LOVE BBR stuff. I have all BBR equipment on my bike so far, and I'm working on a sponsorship from BBR. Plan on riding for them.
