I recently purchased a 2006 CRF70 bone stock with about 5 hrs total on the bike. I got it for a steal at 800.00. I was wondering if a few of you could help me out with the beginnings of many mods to come. I want to put a FMF exhaust and new air filter on it . I was wondring if that will require me to do anything to the carb or not. Will I need to rejet it or anything else that I might be overlooking. This bike is gonna start out as my nine year olds first bike til she learns, then it will be turned into my toy. Thanks for the help.

You'll most likely need to get a bigger main jet, and adjust the fuel/air mix screw.

The 70's are pretty slow.. You might look into a 88 kit for it., There pretty cheap.
What would you suggest as a starting point for the main jet
for what your going to put into it why not just buy a yx 150 or 160. at 500 bucks only twice as much as a fmf pipe and gives you another 8 horsepower more than it.

+ a 4-speed and a clutch. Even a lifan "daytona" 150 is a great option to.
Even if I was to buy the YX150 or the Daytona wouldn't I need to still get the exhaust and other parts? Again I am new to this and kinda need it broken down. Thanks
Or you can buy a 88 kit which comes with a new foam filter and you can still stick with your stock exhaust. Since the difference between the 70 and 88 is not as big than a 50 where you really should upgrade the exhaust.

Even though I still have the stock exhaust, it still sounds better and a little louder too.
