HELLO to all and thanks for admitting me into the Mini Madness!! So after a heart attack and triple bypass surgery we sold everything and moved from southeast Missouri (Where I had lived for 68 years) to Sun City to be near son and the grand kids. I've had several Honda Mini Trails 50 over the years. We've used them as pit bikes at the drag races, runabouts for drinks and food at car shows, and in the woods at the family farm. Always fun and always dependable. Here in Sun city everyone tools around in golf carts, but I don't golf and figured a mini trail for a "cool" ride that would not take up much space here in the garage. Plus, I think here in Texas, 50cc or less is no license or helmet. So I started looking. Found this October 1969 K1 hardtail and bought it from the grandson of the original owner, who had bought it for the guy's dad when they lived in Marshall Town Iowa.!!! It was just a few miles away in Austin, Texas. Very original condition, no rust, spotless clean gas tank. Worst part is the ripped up seat and the missing tail light bracket and taillight. A few nicks and scratches, but hey, it's almost 52 years old!! I'm just going to clean it up, recover the seat, replace the taillight, service it, and RIDE IT!!!! Keep it as close to original as I can. A SURVIVOR, just like me!! So let the MINI MADNESS begin!!!!

Welcome to PM from another Texan! Lovely K1. Is that an 1150 GS in background!?
Thanks for the welcome. So far, we LOVE Texas! Yes, I think that is what it is. It belongs to son. He calls it the worlds biggest trail bike. I know it is big and heavy to move around, with big aluminum cargo boxes too. He’s been into BMWs for years. Used to ride 360 miles a day 5 days a week. Thanks again.
