Hey fellas!

I am changing my head (finally got an Ultra) and intake manifold (larger port) and where the throttle cable goes into carb it seems to hit the frame.

I've got the 20mm carb from Classic & also using the black heat shield spacer. I was going to toss the spacer (more torque maybe?) anyways, but I think I will need to slightly bend the metal tube/guide that flows into top of carb.

Apparently this most be a common issue, because my buddy who just bought a new frame has the exact same problem, maybe just a little worse.

It is hitting the frame main tube, NOT the tank.

Hope you guys can help.

Later!

The little copper tube that screws into carb cap it hitting bad.

The carb will fit in without cap, but with cap in/on it is about 1/4" from being able to match up the mount holes on the carb to intake manifold.

I think with removing my plastic heatshield/spacer & a little "convincing" I can get mine to work.

BUT, my friend has already removed the spacer & his still hits!

I need to fix it before Sat. night, dying to go racin' @ Hardrock.

Do you have stock head & frame?

I have an Ultra head (slightly different shape) & alum. BBR frame (fatter).

I think both of those contribute to my problem.

I live in Gainesville, Florida.
