Last Sunday I went out riding my big bike my CR250. When i got tired of that I decided to pull out my 50. So i was meessing around on the intermediate track and found this set of doubles thats about 15ft gap. I jumped it once landed it clean. the second time I didn;t get enough speed and cased it really bad. So I went around for a 3rd time and it was as if I couldn't gain enough speed to even come close to clearing it. (Keep in mind I have my stock motor in.)

So the next day I was out riding with my friends and there is this hill in his neighbor hood that I can do second gear wheelies almost all the way up.I was in 2nd gear and the bike didn;t even have enough power to go up it in 2nd. I had to put it in 1st and crawl up it. I also noticed every time I did pull up a wheelie that my chain was hitting my case. So i went and adjusted my chain left about 3/4 to 1" of free play in it then when I pulled it off the stand it was really hard to push. I figured it was the brake. So I backed the brake off still hard to push, backed it off some more still hard to push. So I was pretty pissed because I can't ride the bike because it won't go anywhere.

So I took the bike home and was thinking you know what I probably bent the axle. I had a custom machined 4130 chromoly axle in there. So I swapped it out with my stock axle and it did the exact same thing. Hard to push even with the rear brake nut in my pocket completely off teh bike. I was thinkning maybe the clutch was messed up. So I adjusted it and the same thing, I checked the valves, changed the plug and it still does the same thing. I'm wondering is it possible that the wheel bearings are messed up. When the bike is on the stand and I spin the tire with my hand. It goes around about 3/4 of a rotation and then stops. Even when the back tire is in the air and it's in gear and running whatever is dragging it down case the rear tire to stop completely.

So if you guys have any idea what could be going on with this thing please let me know. Right now my 50 is unrideable because I can hardly ride it up my street.

Thanks,

Darrel

my bike did this when i was riding around in the street. the rear wheel would only spin so far, then stop completely. and when i was about to put it away, as i was rolling it. the back wheel made a loud crack sound and it was back to normal.

yeah it's probablt the axel you should check it.

I never once jumped on my stock axle. I had a custom 4130 chromoly axle machined because I was going to make then and sell them but that fell through. I have already pulled out the chromoly axle that I jumped on and have put the stock rear axle back in.

Go ride it and see if it does it if you NEVER hit the rear brake. I mean don't even touch the peddle. If it doesn't do it for a long time then hit the rear brake. If it does it starts after that then probably same as what happened to me. Mine did something like that because my brake pads where bad and the lever on hub would go past half way and get stuck. It would make my rear brake drag. What is happening to you sounds exactly like what happened to me. Look and see if your brake pads are still good. Also check to make sure that your chain adjusters are the same on each side. Maybe your wheel is not aligned right.

Yeah my brake felt like it was dragging because it was. Mine was doing this exact same thing. Thanks for the help man it's fixed now.
