If the"e-clip" is in the third (middle) notch, try lowering the e-clip one notch down, raising the needle and richening it a tad.
You might also want to try a #38 pilot jet as well, if you have one to swap in.

It was in the middle. So i started the bike with the idle screw all the way out. Bike started right up. I could rev the bike up nicely, but bike won't idle at all.

Bike idle pretty good. I can twist throttle and bikes revs up quickly. It does slow down quickly but seems to keep rpm's up for just a bit. Should i move needle again

Are you sure your not confusing the idle screw with the air screw?

The XR80 has been sold. Yahoo! I now have a 1977 Honda Z50 to restore. I was to wait till the fall before starting on Z50,but i'm already messing with it. I may start a thread on it this weekend

I did it over about four months. Can be a little tough to find some of the parts. Like exhaust, shocks kick starter. I got lucky and found stuff at a good a price and like new

Mine has most of the original parts, that are in good shape. Unfortunately the plastic parts are shot. Do you know the best place to look for replacement side panels and fenders other than ebay?

Yes get Maier plastics. Also buy direct from them. They will send you free color samples.
