hey, i pulled the plastic off my 50 and found the ishock spring not compressed, the preload adjuster backed completely off 8O it seems that the preload adjustment turns easily, is it supposed to? is this a problem?

sounds like its set too loose...try to tighten it down on the spring and then with a aspanner wrench tighten it down........get it so that its a few turns from initial contact with the spring.......that way the spring acts as a lock washer and holds it from turning itself loose.......if that doesnt work then something is wrong with it.

if after that doesnt work talk to mxishock or shiftwideopen. or just give them a call. www.mxishock.com

 ??? explain that again
what didnt you get??

your preload is set too loose. how tight was the nut on the spring??

if it wasnt compressing the spring down some then it can come loose with normal riding.

what dont you get??

i had the preload tightened in a fair amount, enough that i think its odd for it to back all that way off while riding.. ive turned it back on but im just wondering what made it turn off
but if its tightened down and it still comes loose then you got a problem. easy fix is a back nut.....just put another nut up to that one.
yeah ill have to see.. while its on the bike it takes only a small amount of effort to turn the preload ring.. shouldnt it be a bit harder?
tighten the preload(height ajuster, or the threads and round thing that needs to be in contact with the spring on the outside) the pressure of the spring should keep it from turning again. the spring probly wore in, loosened, and allowd the ajuster to turn.

one thing though, wasnt that soft as fu [ |< ?

edit;sorry, you guys type fast
hey, no it wasnt soft at all, actually when i sat on the bike it didnt have any sag, it was stiff.. but yes the shock is fairly new and the spring could have wore in, i bent my frame the other day and im wondering if that would have given it more leverage and it backed off?
mmmm no, i dont think it would do it.

what version ishok do you have?

if it was still hard without the spring touhing it needs to be reajusted.
i have the CRF ishock non res version.. anyway im headed out to motopark, wont be back till sunday night.. l8z
