My Monkey R seller went MIA, so decided to buy a battered, but hopefully reparable 1988 Honda NSR 50. The bike is in pretty rough shape, but the engine was supposed to be running before the bike left Japan. I am now almost done disassembling the bike and should be taking the frame for sandblasting and powder coating after the Easter break. I have managed to source a bunch of parts on Buyee (haven't shipped yet), but there are still a few things that I need to find/repair. Enough typing, here are some pics of the bike before I started taking it apart. I will be adding to the album as I carry on with the restoration.

Quick update: I finally finished disassembling the bike last weekend and Buyee has now shipped most the parts I bought, let's see how it goes with customs...

The bit of the frame to where the side stand bolts onto is missing, so I am taking the bike tomorrow to a guy who might be able to fabricate a bracket and weld it to the frame. I really hope he can get it done, so I can then take the frame/swing arm and other bits for sandblasting and powder coating. The fork legs also need sandblasting and powder coating. So, if the missus/kids permit I will try to disassemble them this weekend. Never done it before, so I hope I don't screw it up

BTW if anyone has any NSR bits for sale and is happy to ship to England let me know.

Yes! parts have finally started to arrive from Japan. I should be picking up the frame and other parts from sandblasting tomorrow. Will update some pics tomorrow night if the family allows. The main thing I need to sort out right now is the front brake. The caliper is seized and the rubber hoses aren't looking great. Got a feeling this is going to take longer than I thought...
