Alright well I was about to get a 125 KTM SX but I ended up not, pretty expenisive those beasts and I dunno if I would really be good at that since I have only ridden 65's.

I'm going to buy a XR-50 this summer maybe before my dad might buy it for me since I wanted one for a while and it will fit in the back of the expedition. Im only gonna use this for maybe cruising around pismo, desert, wherever maybe try a LITTLE jumping like no more than 3-4 feet. So what mods should I get?

I can't spend alot and I don't need a real super sweet bike. I was thinking for the first mod I would get a stiffer rear spring from kingracing.com only 30 bucks for one. What else should I get? I weigh about 130 pounds and I'm 5'7-5'8 if it makes any difference.

Thanks for the "tips/help/suggestions guys.

Hey. Don't get a rear spring. Its not a very comfy ride. If you only weigh 130, use stock suspension, unless you want to put 175$ into an ishock. But for 3-4 feet, you can keep the bike stock. You might want to get a bar kit though, that'll cost you around 200$ for the clamp, bars, throttle, brake lever, perch, brake cable.

Alright cool less money to spend on parts, next year I'll go all out for the accessories and engine parts. So how does this semi automatic clutch thing work? I wish they came with real clutches and gears, those are part of the fun of dirtbikes. I see you can buy a kit for manual clutch, maybe I'll get it later on.

your going to want front springs if you get a rear spring, its pretty goofy to ride without em.

yo rm, thats bull. you should take that off if you havent bottomed, isnt that a harsh ride? i was jumping @ 120 w/ stiff springs and i bottmed out alot. even now with my works shock i bottom alot, its alot softer bump than stock though. 8)

Hey I've gone to pismo before, I live in so cal around granada hills, and chatsworth. Im not gonna be jumping for a while probably when school starts up again I will, and it hasnt even ended yet so thats a little while off. So far I think the bar's will be my first mod. I don't want to spend more than about 500 modding it in all thats like engine work, bars, shocks, whatever.

Welcome to the fiddy world, you'll soon be an addict. Your HD springs will def turn into some more high end suspension, trust me. I thought I was going to keep mine stock just to mess around on out front. Not anymore.

well, you got a few choices. do you want to got mx or bmx style? for your height id reccomend mx, i have a set of applied clamps w/ tag miniplay bars for sale pretty cheap. if your not going to be jumping more than 3ft high your stock suspension will hold you. i reccomend getting a skidplate, folding shifter, tires(when the stockers get rounded) and a seat. all that will leave you with a comfortable bike. theres tons of different parts out for everything on your bike.

links for ideas of whats out and around.

Porn Capital of the world. My mom works in chatsworth, no, not in the porn industry. She works for Brendan Tours now.[/quote]

Haha I don't live in Chatsworth, Northridge actually but I just used well known places to give a general location.

Well I won't be getting my bike until around mid may early june so i'll talk to you then if you still have bars for sale. I will probably just ride street, and flat land dirt for a while until I get a hang of the 50's feel then maybe summer or when school starts i'll start jumping, so I'm thinking Bar Setup, Seat, and maybe some graphics or plastics, and some new grips for first round of mods. When I start jumping I'm thinkin folding shifter, skid plate, maybe new shock setup? I dunno i'll try jumping with stock shocks first and see if I really need them. Are these fiftys really loud? Because I wanna ride around my neighborhood, try tricks like wheelies and stoppies and stuff and ride in my backyard but I can't if these are really loud. If they are can I get a silencer anywhere?

i say save your money from the graphics/plastics until they get torn to shreds from looping out  my skidplate was one of the first things i bought, it definetly saved my case many times. the stock bars are tiny, bend easy, and not ajustable at all. i got springs and skid first, then saved for a bar kit. i made a lift for the bars, it was pretty sweet. ahh memories  oh and grips are a must, the stock are a few inches wide and made of plastic. stock fiftys are quiet as a car, but people will still complain

Okay cool, Im glad there quit, Im not really afraid of jumping it, just I had a bad experience with my friends ktm 65 when I jumped it haha, to sum it up I jumped a good 10 feet long and 5 feet high off a little mound of dirt at 45 while looking behind me :( haha. I do jump razor scooters though, im like a razor pro lol no one likes razorers though but I have jumped really high and far on razors before and dones tricks such as supermans, can cans, no footers, nothings, tailwhip 360's etc... so I will jump in a while. What exactly is the skid plate for? If you land on like the lip of the landing or something?
