i bought a z50 from a guy about a year ago and he acted like the motor was a 107cc or bigger. It has honda cases. has a bigger kehin carb and a kitco carb elbow. could you guys tell what this is? it might just be a 88 but i have no idea. and also what clutch kit and dress up kit does it have and what is the advantage of a 12v motor vs a 6v motor? thanks!a

Can you post a detailed pic of the engine? Looks like your pics didn't work. On the left case by the shifter shaft there is a serial number. See if you can get a pic of it. The 12 volt is a Cdi ignition (no points) motor and there are more engine upgrade options for the 12 volt design.

according to the decoder the cases are from a 04-05 crf motor. ill try and get some pictures to work

Any numbers or logos on the cylinder directly under the carb bowl? The carb appears to be a Keihin PC18 or 20, looks like stock Honda numbers on the head itself, but hard to tell if it's a 50 or 70 head. It has a manual clutch, and a stock Honda flywheel. See if a magnet sticks to the cylinder.

Since there are two extra wires with the stock Honda plugs, someone may have wound the stator for lights, you'd have to pull the flywheel to verify that.

Not positive, but it looks like the Kitaco logo on the cylinder. Possibly an 88cc bbk, but it is a stock honda head, from either a 50 or 70.

okay cool. is there anyway to tell if it has the stroker kit in it besides spliting the cases?

Removing the head would then tell you exactly what you have.

1. measure the cylinder bore to see what size it is

2. measure the stroke to see if it's a stroker crank

No, it is an 85cc displacement. If the bore was 52mm, it would be an 88cc.
