Hey so there's this rattle coming from around the head. It progressively got worse over time. It makes the sound when I rev the bike, with it in neutral and in gear. Sounds almost like something's bouncing around. Checked the valves and they were in spec. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

No I dont believe so, I'm pretty sure the sound is internal

That bolt is tight but the rail still has some room to move. Could that be a problem?

If by rail you mean that long black thing (upper cam chain guide) then you might want to check/reset your cam chain tensioner. Could be cam chain rattle that's causing the noise...?

Yeah the long black thing. It can move a bit forward and back like the bolt is to long. Is there a guide anywhere on how to reset the tensioner?
When I felt the chain it was pretty tight tho.

Are the 2 long bolts under the cam cover tight. The ones that go from the head down to the case.

Yeah I just checked them and they seem pretty tight, I don't want to strip them so I didn't try to hard

If the chain felt tight then you should be good. I thought you meant vertical movement in the cam chain guide. What head are you running? The roller rocker heads can be noisy but if it's getting progressively worse then it's probably not normal.
Mine was making a bit of dinging and I figured it was a bit of piston play due to worn rings. (Wasn't smoking only dinging subtly when I dogged it at low rpm in a higher hear). I also had a bit if noise from a worn crank on a crf50 motor...
I'm a stickler for chasing noises and hate when I can't pinpoint them... Good luck!
