I have just installed the TB 88 with out the head. I am running a uni with stock pipe that the screen has been taken out of. I can't seem to get the bog out of the throttle from idle to 1/4 throttle. I have turned the screw (I think it's the pilot jet screw, it's the brass looking one that is a flat head) an 1/8 at a time from 1 out to 2 1/2 out. The bog is there through all adjustments. It's best at about 1 1/2 out. But it still bogs bad. If i go from idle to full throttle it will just die.

Any help would be great. Thanks In advance.

with the big bore kit we had to richen mine a little to get ridd of the bog but if you put a 2 stroke carb on like we did lastnight that does a miracle for the bog. or you could get a rev box.

I really don't think i should have to change the carb. I mean it comes in a kit. So they should give you the right stuff.

Before you try jetting it, see if it helps to move the c-clip on the needle up or down. If that dosen't work then try some other jet sizes

the only way I could get the 88cc kit with out head to run perfect was to put an 18mm carb on it. It ran good with the 20mm but I did have some bogs and sputters with it. Never could work them out. After I ported my stock head and had a big bore pipe, the 20mm ran perfect. I did play with the need and stuff to get it that way though.

i know that big thumper carbs have "accelerator pumps" and i don't believe 2 stroke carbs do. I don't know if that applies to these little four strokes or not, but there is definatley a difference between 2 stroke carbs and 4 stroke carbs.

seems alot of people have trouble with that. ive ran mine every which way but loose and it still does it a bit. less and less as i get used to it. but its a bummer coming off a lip not knowing if its gonna keep the nose up or just fall on its face when you blip the throttle. feels like it needs an accelerater pump to me. dont know exactly what thing(s) in these carbs mimic what the acc pump does but i wish they were available to play with.

tb has a nice set of main jets that i would get first. i think classic has a 38 pilot and if its the right one id give 'er a try. i was runnin a needle out of my buddys 18mm keihin and just that made a very noticeable difference.

now im back to stock needle, bogs a little and bike just feels a little lazy.

no you have to take off the bottom of the carb and unscrew it out of there.

and if i remmeber right......2 strokes have accelrator pumps...not 4 stroke carbs.....but i could be a lil dislexic(sp) today.

and to billy.........do everybody a favor and leave your stupidity elsewhere......if you dont know how to solve the problem dont just go blurting out everything until you said the right thing..........you OBVIOUSLY know absolutely nothing about how carbs or motors.....so please leave the more technical questions alone......leave it for someone that will actuall send someone in the right directions.........all your doing is creating more headaches......

look back at page one, the pic i posted, and read that to yourself. i was gonna customize it with your name on him but figured.....you got the point.

:D
