Im going to either get my fly wheel shaved or get a inner rotor. Is the inner rotor really worth the extra money? How much of a difference does it make over just stock flywheel shaving? The setup im going to be running is a takewaga 88 s stage with a ported xr70 head and a TB manuel clutch.

well.....the inner rotor kit is lighter and can fine tune timing. where as the flywheel you will save alot of money and still get a performance gain......i personally dont like how fast it falls off the rpm's when in corners.(with inner rotor kit) the added weight with a shaved stock is enough to help that. either way you will notice a difference...just depends 300 or 60??? i choose 60

Since you have a still have a clutch on the crank, The inner rotor will be more beneficial. You need some weight on the crankshaft for flywheel effect or you'll find yourself over the bars going off jumps. If you can afford it, go with the inner rotor and you'll feel much better acceleration out of turns. Top end power will be the same as before. If you ever go to the Takegawa 5 disk clutch though, you'll want to go back to the stock setup on the ignition. The inner rotor and takegawa clutch creates a bike that is very hard to ride in moto applications. For motard though, the IR and 5 disk clutch are the way to go. BUT, a lightned flywheel will still give a noticeable increase in the torque curve whatever the rest of your engine mods and application. Don't expect too much though as only about 2.5 to 3 oz. of material are removed from the stock flywheel whereas the IR weighs less than a pound.

Remember that the xr70 head is made for a domed piston which ever way you decide. It is all up to you on price. mudpumper pretty much hit the nail on the head.

i run a 124 superhead with 5disk manual clutch and have takegawa cdi ignition. . .i agree it is quite different and needs alot of getting used to. . .doesnt take much to stall the bike with all the weight taken off the crank. . .i honestly have gotten alot better with it with practice so ill prolly stick with it

I have the inner rotor , and its pretty amazing how fast it lets a motor rev up , huge difference from a stock unshaved flywheel . Im not too sure how much of a difference there is between an inner rotor and shaved flywheel ... A shaved flywheel must work pretty good though , or else so many people wouldnt be getting it done ...

INNER ROTOR, TAKEGAWA CLUTCH, IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO. I'VE HAD THEM ALL AND THAT APPLICATION WORKS THE BEST.........EVEN IN MOTOCROSS I HAVENT STALLED MY BIKE TO MANY TIMES, IT TAKES SOME GETTING USED TO BUT IS MONEY WELL SPENT. THE QUICKNESS THE POWER COMES ON IS AWSOME.

BECAUSE, THE BIKE IS MADE FOR 5YRS OLD AND UP IN STOCK FORM. AND IN STOCK FORM IT IS ALMOST INDESTRUCTABLE.

Oh and so Im not just making a useless post, go with inner rotor, if you know how to ride then it will work fine and you shouldnt have a problem stalling. I rode a bike with inner rotor before and its incredible, revs so fast, its like riding a 2stroke, the power is just instant.

I think im going to go with the inner rotor, im going to have to wait till after i buy my forks to get the inner rotor. I might just get my fly wheel shaved and then get a inner rotor in a couple months, i dont know.

Oh and cycle rider, i know i need a domed piston i already have all they my 70 head is sitting im my garage waiting to be ported.
