How much did the NSR change from the early 90s to '04? Found one that the seller thinks is a grey market '90 model. Any way to tell for sure what year it actually is? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Since, Honda only imported about 4000, NSR50R race bikes, to the U.S. In 2004. All others would be grey market bikes.

A friend of mine has one he uses to track. I can ask him if you want.
I think they have different suspension setups. I believe the 50Rs are more adjustable, but I'm not 100% sure.

Mechanically they are nearly.
The older ones:
Bodywork differences, lights, kickstarter, tachometer, speedometer, may have the lower exhaust, steel upper triple clamp and bolted on handlebars.

Newer 2004+:
aluminum triple clamp like big bike, high exhaust can, tachometer only
