Cracked case

Anyone know of a fix to a cracked engine case. Can you weld, or try a epoxy fix?....... Threw the chain and it put a hole in the left side engine casing.

Or better yet where I can buy a replacement case?

Thanks,

Kdog

cheaper to get a used case half off here...hit up Firepower354 he may have what ya need.
DRATV sells cases but you are better off to buy a set instead on just one side.

do you think the Chinese actually match the case halves???

well they may not but if you are going through all the trouble I sure as heck would.

just sayn...both of my SDG 107 upgrade kits only came with one side only.....could get out the dremel and make sure they are matched myself but if they do not seem to worry about it....I know for serious performance desires....blueprinting and balancing is a must
JB Weld, clean the area very well and then use some JB Weld or other epoxy. You should be going in no time, silicone gasket material should work also is it a crack or hole? Picture are always helpful.

Good Luck!

yes same brand engine size will interchange no problems.
I'd swap one and not worry, unless you find a set cheap. I have a 6v left you can have for $25 shipped. If using a 12v full flywheel, you have to do a little grinding for the pickup. IRK is a bolt on. 12V CRF set for $80 shipped.
is it the 110cc motor? if so I have a motor ssitting here that has a crack but If I remember right its the right side thats cracked. pm for more info
Yes it's a SSR 110 motor....107cc Zongsen I believe....

And the problem is actually both a crack and a hole......It somehow sheered off the rear bolt that holds the stator cover on the left side of the motor....I'll try the JB weld or some silicone gasket material and keep an eye on it....

Throwing the (RK chains) chain has been a recurring problem with both of our bikes....(SSR 110's).....I constantly check and recheck the tension and alignment but for some reason they always get loose and then WHAM....they come off....We are not even jumping any jumps, just pretty much flat tracking it with lots of "S" turns and bowls....Any suggestions on what I might be overlooking......We've only had these bikes since Xmas and I beginning to think I made a mistake....Seems like most of the time I"m wrenching and replacing parts on the bikes as oppose to riding....

Thanks,

Kdog

easy to fix, find a TIG welder good on aluminium, take around 30min to do.
do you have the stock swingarm? if so, then the rubber bushings are flexing and throwing your chain tension/alignment out of whack, get the rubber bushing out and replace with bearings, or what I did, nylon spacers (can further explain if needed) OR Now I have the ebay one which fitted perfect AND came wth bearings.
Now that I've looked at the swingarm, that's probably the culprit (they're toasted).....I've looked high and low for bearings to replace those bushing and can't find them anywhere. Anyone know where to find them?.....

i dont like RK.

I use only Regina Chains, bulletproof to me or a good DID.
dont use JBWELD, it's easy to fix, go see a TIG Welder, i could do it for around 20$.

You have to empty the oil. He will fill your case with a little argon, weld from outside.

Tig welding is like having a new case, far better than any glue.

Quote.

Weld it or replace it.

Dont use fake-metal-glue on engines even if specifications say that you can do it..
