Your not gonna see any top end speed and depending on how bad your clutch is you may see some bottom end power.

The Kevlar discs is a great addition as well as HD clutch springs. Id think about finding a clutch cover gasket as they get hot and tend to rip when removing the cover.

Hey guys , Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't kevlar a harder material than conventional clutch material right ?

Wouldn't that excellerate wear of the moving parts in the motor kinda like metal shavings would that were floating around ? :?

I just installed this kit today and it works great. No more clutch slippage taking off in 2nd. It is way harder to shift though. I hope it will get easier with a few heat cycles. My 6yr old son also has a 88kit and his clutch is slipping too, I was going to buy the same thing for him but damn, he wouldn't be able to shift with these springs. Has anyone tried this kit using only two springs instead of the four? Maybe that will be closer to stock.

no..its the other way around..this harder material stays together better then stock so there is less floating around...and it isnt any harder on the other parts then stock is...it just lasts longer

Wait, you two with this clutch kit, do you have the stock xr50 clutch set up, or have a full manual clutch(lever clutch to shift) ?

I ordered the kit today.

And one last thing, do you really need the specific tools to install the kit, or can you just use somethign else?

I'd recommend an impact driver to get the clutch basket off. They are little mush phillips head screws and the clutch nut tool makes it really simple, but i guess a hammer and flat head screwdriver could work. Also, yes I have this kit with the stock auto clutch system still.

Shifting is not hard to do, its just my gear box is crappy so it the gearbox shifts into each gear hard... make any sense? Like it will catch the gear hard everytime, even if you let it rev down completely. So I am hoping the clutch kit will help with that.

I didn't like the way my bike shifted into each gear . It's the auto clutch set up . So I don't anything you do is gonna make the way it goes into each gear any more smoothly . I figure it would be more harsh considering your putting in stiffer springs .
