A friend just brought over a fiddy that runs great but it has a problem with shifting, its hard to shift and makes clunky noises when it does shift. any ideas what it could be?

sometimes the clutch will do that when not adjusted properly. See if their is a lot of play in the shifter itself. Like up and down slop without shifting gears.

If thats the case adjust the adjuster nut on the right case cover.

best case scenario its just clutch adjustment worst case scenario it is a bent shift fork

its an auto on a stock 50, I tried adjusting the clutch but it still shifts hard and clunky. It looks like ill be taking the clutch apart tonight to see what it is.
