Ok, so here's the deal. I've been looking for a set of forks for my SDG. I did have a cheap chinese set of inverted forks on my bike (which actually weren't that bad) until I just recently sold them to my friend so that I could get a nicer set. I have been looking at getting a new set of fastace as-02 forks with triple clamps, axel, and risers for $225 shipped. But I don't really know how good the fastace forks really are. So I would like to know:

If that is a good deal for $225?

How good are they?

Is there anything better for around the same price?

I'm in college so of course I'm broke and I just need the best set of forks that I can get in that $225 price range. I also already have a front wheel that is for a 15mm axel so I would like to get forks that accomodate a 15mm axel if possible.

go with DNM Hornets m200 forks... IMO one of the best forks and the price is surprising..... the hornets have compression and rebound on both legs...

.. the fast ace are only one leg... and are very soft and sag...

... i have both fast ace, and hornet forks... and im not a big fan of these fast ace forks... go with the DNM's for sure.

not to possibly take a sale from you Wrath...

..but my oppinion for ridetheblue would be to just buy a set of DNM forks for about 300... the performance is unserpassed by any other asian fork set...

...although the new fastace as-01 forks are giving them a run for the money... but they are probably another 100 dollars more just cause they are new...

... but if ridetheblue wants decent forks... with decent performance... just take one of the fastace deals...

Like I told you when you were at my house, the AS-02 Fast Ace forks can be made to work really good. The 03's only have rebound adjustment which is fine for what you plan on doing with them. The can be set up fairly good to but lack the convenience of being able to make external adjustments. The DNM forks are hard to beat for a performance shock. They are a full oil bath system rather than using air to adjust. That front axle and spacers you got from me are for Fast Ace forks

While you guys are on the subject of cheap forks, where can i find some decent triple clamps. I have a set of stock 07 pitster forks and pitster wants $300 bones just for clamps. Thats more than a whole set up. Looking to stay around $150.

Is the diameter of the steering stem for the fast-ace the same as any other steering stem?

Would roller bearings for the stem be the same size between fast-ace and any other brand of xr50 triple clamp stem?

The steering stem that I had used different bearings than the stock crf50. I'm not sure if they are all like what I had or not. Wholesale cycle in OH sells the crf50 and the other size taper bearings for like $20
