So i have the takegawa 88cc Hyper-s Borekit and the bike has run FLAWLESS for two months now. Not once have I had problems starting it, infact some of the times I can start it when it's cold without the choke.

Anyways, This week I got my Bombshell forks and the rest of my suspension. As all of you know, the STOCK throttle body has the kill switch built in with the green and black wires running under the tank etc.

Since I have the tag miniplay bars, I went with the fiveo throttle - this left me with no where to mount the two wires (since i don't want a kill switch right now). SO, I followed the wires back under the tank, and ended up at the glossy little rubber cover next to your left leg. I peeled it back, and simply unplugged the wires that used to go to the stock kill switch. Everything has quick-disconnect so i unplugged rather than cutting or taping etc.

Ever since I've done this, my bike is having a hard time starting! I am running the plug that came with the takegawa kit (plug with an 8) and it won't start what so ever. It keeps loading up so bad with GAS that i let it sit for a couple hours and come back and it still won't work....and YES, there is spark!

I realized i had the stock plug (plug with a 6 in it) which runs much hotter, but I wanted to try it out and see if i could burn all the fuel off with this then switch back. So, first kick, it starts right up - no problems, however when i gave it some gas and let it go back to idle it would backfire so bad, and it was so loud, the backfire was coming from the gasket between the head and the cylinder...and a little smoke puff would come out. I just let it idle with the gas off until it almost died...

I noticed that when I switched to the hotter stock plug and ran it for a couple seconds with gas on, then put the 6 in, it still wouldn't start up!

Anyways, after I finally changed to the colder plug once the engine was warmed up, it ran fine although it took three or four kicks.

I am wondering what the hell is going on! My bike suddenly after putting on suspension is loading up worse than ever before (and i know it has nothing to do with suspension). TO Turn the bike off, i've been letting the rpms to go idle then choking it out until it dies. Is this a problem with the two wires I disconnected or what? I tried kicking over the damn thing forever before I switched it to the hot plug and started first time.

please help, this is discouraging!

I am going to start using the key and get a new plug and hope that this solves the problem. I know my bike was running alittle rich already bt it performed well as it was so we left it. it's still got the stock Takegawa Jetting out of the box...

EDIT: do you think i damaged something by using that #6 plug for a couple minutes idling??

you did no damage running the 6 plug, but you need to put the 85 main jet in your carb. i think the carb comes with a 95 or somthing. your kit should have came with another jet, the 85

i started up my bike today and ran it for a while then used the key to shut it off...i hope that is the simple solution to the problem. I will probably go buy another plug while i am waiting...
