Just picked up my brand new 04 NSR yesterday for $1500 and spent 4 hours riding it today/breaking in. I own 2 Kawasaki super sports a04 zx6rr track bike and 04 zx636, I got this to learn and practice the art of dragging knee.

THIS BIKE IS CRAZY FUN

Can you guys help steer me in the right direction for aftermarket performance parts ?

My bike has no balls till 7k in all gears but still gets going at 60+ on some twisty roads.

Thanks

Congrats on the purchase, Cody. For aftermarket parts available via a stateside seller, hit up:

Team Calamari Racing

WRW Racing

Classic Honda Performance

There are also quite a few options for specialist parts from Japan via guys on this forum ("Z" or "Reynolds_Brad," if I'm not mistaken), a fellow called Mitz who often sells things on eBay, and many others.

Welcome to the world of two-strokes and their power delivery. At least you're doing better than me; my bike just starts laughing unless I have eight grand on the tach.

Thanks for all the feedback guys ... This is the best and only NSR50 focused forum I've found.

I'm going to do all my research on here to make this one quick 2 stroke ... I hope.

As far as the price .... I bought it on ebay ... I had to drive 5 hours away to get it.

Local dealer had 2 in the crate still but wanted 2600 +tax.

The Dude shared his service manual with me. I can send you a copy of it if you need it. It's got some great information in it. Everything you need to know to keep your motor runnin' clean.

Congrats on getting a NSR!!

The sites posted above are good ones. Are u looking at keeping it a street only ride or are u going to race it?

Either way, have fun! And when u are tired of that 2 smoke power.. Come talk to me!! Haha

Brian - think I talked to you in a email right ? I might pick up a set of sliders and motor mounts at the same time .... I need a good winter project. I am going to hold out until you have white or black sliders. What year XR100 motors work with your kit ?

I hope to find a mini track somewhere near me in CT for next season. For the rest of this season I'll just stick to the big parking lots and cone setups. I'm preparing myself to drop a lot of $$ into it ..... so addicting.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Okay, yes we talked a few days ago. Didn't know it was u.

Any year XR motor will work, but I'd try and find a 96 or newer XR100 motor, as you won't have to do too much work to it, and you want to stay away from the older points motor and get one with a CDI.
