I'm trying to get some quotes on shipping my BBR bike and I called ups freight and they said they can't ship it due to hazardous materials I would have to break the bike down. I was hoping to just crate it up and ship it. has anyone ever shipped a whole bike before or is this the only route to go by breaking it down?

just gotta remove fluids like fuel and oil completely and most companies will ship it then..

find a bike crate or build one.. usually best bet is to remove front wheel and use front axle as a point to secure bike to bottom of crate.. also remove handlebars to keep it narrower..

Old Dominion (sp?) is a fairly cheap company to ship freight through..

i also got a klx110 from cali to wisconsin, the seller broke it down into 3 boxes and went ups ground for a fair price.

either way make sure to get all fluids out completely! if anything drips it may get stopped and cost extra fees along the way.

good luck!
