I recently got a motor swapped ATC 70 that had no rear brakes. I ordered fresh brake shoes for the rear housing, slapped them in and ordered a rear brake cable. It has aftermarket handlebars, so I went on TBoltUSA and bought an ATC70 extended brake cable. Turns out, the cable is too long. I ordered a MotionPro cable specifically for ATC70’s, and that one (routed the stock way) was too short. I am baffled.

Looking at the TBolt +3" cable, it appears the only adjustments you can make are at the handlebar perch with the knurled wheel, and/or to re-index the rear brake arm (part #10) by moving it backwards a spline or two on the brake cam (part #5).

Wouldn’t moving it a spline or 2 not work because the shaft it sits on has a place on the splines where there are no splines and that is how you align the arm onto said shaft? And also, there’s this C holder jutting from the inside of the frame a few inches before the brake arm for what looks to be a brake cable. I can’t seem to find a way to feed, or press either of the cables through that clamp. I’m guessing that clamp is to hold the cable in place to prevent it from moving. And as far as the perch is concerned, I maxed it out to take as much slack out as I could and it still didn’t work.

All of the Honda brake arms and brake cams I've ever dealt with had a small "dimple" on the cam end and on the brake arm to align them. I've never seen a brake cam missing any splines for alignment purposes.

Can you post some pics of the brake arm and cam to see if it is designed with missing splines? I'd be curious to see that.
