Lifan 140 powered Atc70 in my garage. Puts a smile on my face with easy throttle wheels and 2 wheel cornering action. I'm in snow country too, crazy drift driving in a snow storm is awesome. I'm pretty sure the cdi was in the TRX's as my 3 wheeler is an 84 and was still points.

I picked my super clean 84 up from an unknowledgeable seller on craigslist for $125

Because running around on a kid sized machine is just too damn much fun. Why??? I still don't know.

I have a full sized bike an live surrounded by riding spots. I can ride from my house. Yet i still end up tearing around on pitbikes and building dumb little machines.

Why are the 70s so much more desireable? What year did they start making CDI 70s? Is $375 too much for aan '84 ATC70 in decent shape?

ATC 70's are fun to ride because you can throw them around easily and if you flip it, it won't crush you. The 72 cc 4 speed trans has much better power wise than a stock 50 cc 3 speed. Most parts are easy to find and lots are discontinued and lots of upgrades are available, skys the limit....They are also good in sand mud and snow.

Very fun and once you get one you will want another, Z got me hooked on them. :)

I know how you feel, some ask me why I spend so much time and money on those little bikes and trikes, I just tell them to come and go for a ride, after an hour or so they want to know if its for sale or where to get one, buy or build they are just to much fun to trash :D Buy the way only the trx 70 was solid state from honda, you can get the knock off ign. that will work

Shapeshifter, I've ridden ATC 70s, 90s, 110s and a 125M once. It's been awhile, but I believe the external size/architecture on the 90/110/125M motors is pretty much the same...big and heavy like what would have been in a OHC C90, CT90, S90, CL90, etc.

In overall vehicle size, the ATC70 is a LOT smaller than the 90/110/125M.

There were a bunch of 90s and 110s amongst my riding buddies when I was a kid, leading me to think it would be a good idea to buy a used KLT110. As it turned out, I was wrong about that, but the 90 and 110 Hondas were a good all-around size, and had a lot better transmission longevity than my KLT did.

But you could probably get away with being more stupid and less squashed on a 70.

The 125M seemed heavier, clunkier and piggier than the 90s and 110s I'd ridden. Maybe more appropriate for farm/utility use than stupid ATC tricks.
