I'm in process of repairing a 79 Z50R, As it seems to be a usual issue with these bikes my steering stopper tab was broken. I took my best guess on the width of the plate that I welded onto the frame neck. Turned out ok, but now I wonder if I may have made it too wide limiting the turning of the front wheel. Can anyone measure the width of there's and tell me how wide it should be? As is mine don't come close to the tank, that's good. But it seems that I may want a little more turn.

My tab is about 7/8" wide.

Thank You loopiemclooper son. That is just what I needed. Now I can trim mine. Think that I'll get a tank first.

Cheers,
Ron
