2010+ Klx pax 65 swap bearings/ marzocchi shiver question

446 Views 4 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  MotoX150
I have a 2010 klx110 with the pax bearings for the kx65 fork conversion, and I recently bought a 2003 drz110 with a set of marzocchi shivers and would like to put them on my 2010 klx.

my question is will the Pax bearings work? Or will I need a new set of bearings? And will I need to change the races that are in there now from pax? And most importantly, what bearings will work to make it fit?

TIA!

So I ordered some stock head tube bearings, and the top will seem to work but the bottom bearing won't fit over the stem on the clamps.. any idea which bearing and race I need to order to make it fit? Thanks

You should remove the old loose ball bearing race that is at the bottom of the stem before you install the tapered bearing,

Is that tapered bearing started on the lower part of the steering stem at all? They sometimes need to be pressed into place on the stem.

So I had the tapered race in there still from the kx65 fork pax bearing conversion kit, and it's the same size and the new bearing fits into the race fine. But it widens on the bottom the the stem, so I didn't want to force the new bearing on because it's seems just a little too big to force on, but I could be wrong. Hope this em explains in clearly.
